July 2011 – Take This Job and LOVE It!

Bookmark and Share

Every day, we do something with most of our day Something we love or something we hate or something we put up with.

I’d like to suggest that whatever we are spending out time on, we should LOVE it!  That is, even if it is not what we feel passionate about, we should love what we are doing.  Why?  Because LOVE is the most powerful force there is.

  • Love fills our heart and our mind.
  • Love lightens our body like nothing else.
  • Love can heal incurable diseases.
  • Love can change the course of history.
  • Love can transform relationships.
  • Love can move mountains.

If we are going to spend 8 hours or more doing ‘something’ every day, why not make the best of it and find a way to Love it?

If we can do that, whatever our "job" is may turn out to be different than it was when we complained about it or groused about "who did what to whom" etc.  No one likes a whiner.  When we can love where we are, we can find ways to improve, to expand, to change and to grow.  We will find our relationships becoming better also.  Our body will feel better and our general outlook will be better when we feel better.

When we are stuck in negativity or blame or feeling sorry for ourselves, we are stuck in a quagmire of our own making.  Our mental health suffers.  Our relationships suffer and our body suffers.  What better way to burst out of that quagmire than to boldly change our attitude in a positive way?

Heart filled with love (public domain image)  Maybe we can’t love everything about our job.

  Maybe we can find a way to love the birds that sing outside the building as we walk into work.

  Maybe we can find a way to love the people we work withor at least, love some of them.

  Maybe we can find a way to love a project we are involved with.

  We can surely find a way to love the benefits we receive for dedicating a great deal of our time to our employer.

  We can surely find ways to appreciate the money we receive that lets us have resources to do other things we love and to spend time with people we love.

Our challenge to you this month:

  1. Find a way to LOVE something about your job.  Start with something easy or start with something small if this is a new exercise for you.
  2. Let that love wash over you and fill you every single day pushing out any negative feelings you might have about other parts of your job.  Make an appointment on your schedule to do an exercise of letting yourself feel filled with Love every single day.
  3. Do this every single day for a month and notice what happens in your life.
  4. Notice how much better you feel every day.
  5. Notice how calmer your body feels after a month of loving your job.
  6. And, we offer an unconditional guarantee:
  7. If you don’t feel better after a month of doing what we suggest, we will refund the cost of your subscription to our newsletter.  You won’t get a better deal that that anywhere!

One of our favorite reminders from Emmett Fox:

   Love

There is no difficulty
     that enough love will not conquer;

No disease
     that enough love will not heal;

No door
     that enough love will not open;

No gulf
     that enough love will not bridge;

No wall
     that enough love will not throw down;

No sin
     that enough love will not redeem.

It makes no difference
     how deeply seated may be the trouble,

How hopeless the outlook,
     How muddled the tangle,
    How great the mistake.

A sufficient realization of love
    will dissolve it all.

If only you could love enough
    you would be the happiest
     and most powerful being in the world.

If you are thinking about creating sources of income, new business ideas or exploring expansion of a existing business, our book Income Without a Job has some great creative ideas and exercises to assist with that.   The book is a great gift for friends who have been laid off or need extra support during these times.
