October 2011 ~ What's Next?

Today, the world is different than it was yesterday.  Some big changes have happened and many, many small changes have happened since yesterday.

An era has just ended with the death of Steven Jobs, co-creator of Apple Corporation.  Who will be the next great creative genius to help our world? Make no mistake, we are not rabid Apple/Mac fans as some people we know.  We do recognize the many contributions he made to our ability to be more efficient and enjoy the technology that helps to make our life simpler.

Another great milestone is upon us this month: the end of the Mayan calendar.  Some people believe this means the end of the world.

Well, to be honest, the "world" ends every single day and a new world is created every single day.

WE are the creators of the world we live in through our thoughts, our feelings and our actions.

Take some time this month to reflect on how far you have come in your own personal journey in this lifetime, then think about what you want to achieve before you move off the physical plane to the ‘great beyond.’

What do you want to change in your life?  There are probably a lot of things you could put on your list.  What are you doing about accomplishing those things?  Are they just ideal dreams or wishes, or have you taken some steps toward making them real?

Our ability to live a happy and satisfying life depends on our ability to feel "in control" in some way about our life.  Whether we have a lot of control or just a little bit, our perceptions drive the answer.

All of the successful philosophers say that you have to BELIEVE before you SEE the results.  You have to have a plan, take action, trust in yourself and the power of your intentions, and be willing to push through obstacles when necessary.

Life is to be lived not watched.  So, this month, try something new.

A few suggestions:

  1. Make a change that you have always wanted to make – big or small.
  2. Do something you have always wanted to do.
  3. Forgive someone for old hurts.
  4. Love someone unconditionally.
  5. Make up your mind to feel joy every day.
  6. Start a new project.
  7. Finish a project.

So that we show by example what we teach, we are trying something new this month: using an online service to send out our monthly newsletter notices.  This is something that has been on our "to do" list for quite a while and this month, we are doing something about it.  Therefore, those who have subscribed to our email list will get 2 e-mail notices from us this month ~ one from our normal method and one from the new method.

We’d like feedback on how it works for you.  Please use our feedback form if you have questions, comments or suggestions for making this process better.

May your days be filled with laughter and joy this month, and may your own changes provide you with peace in your heart.

If you are thinking about creating sources of income, new business ideas or exploring expansion of a existing business, our book Income Without a Job has some great creative ideas and exercises to assist with that.   The book is a great gift for friends who have been laid off or need extra support during these times.
